Tourist attractions in Huasca de Ocampo:

Speaking about Huasca de Ocampo, means speaking about a very rich history since is one of the most antique villages in Hidalgo. Dates from the 16th century and its related to the mine history of Mexico and great country houses.

The name comes from the Nahuatl tongue which means “Joy and Happiness place”. Huasca is the ideal place to perform tours and strolls which allow you breathe clean air from this providence, as well as enjoying from the beauty of the landscapes, the picturesque village, culture, gastronomy and traditions make it hard to forget.

Ecotourist Park San Miguel Regla
Surrounded by over 20 forest acres, where nature has blessed this region by the exhuberant vegetation, water springs and trails.

Basaltic Prisms
Amazing geometrical walls with a height over 50 meters tall, they are an outcrop of igneous rocks that gave origin to a small cannon. Located at the bottom of the cliff that is washed by the water of San Antonio Regla dam.

Peña del Aire Canyon
Deep desert canyon with a landscape very much alike the african ones. The name is given by the stone located on the peak of a rocky point laid on a perfect balance that seems to be pending in th air.

Zembo Forest
At this forest you will be able to be in direct touch with nature, surrounded by a great vareity of trees, rocky formations, farms and a small lake.

San Antonio Regla Dam
Right next to San Miguel Regla there is the dam with the same name, which on the center its appreciated a chimney emerging out of the water; there is a country house sunkunder the water.

San Miguel Regla Hacienda
It’s one of the biggest mine houses in the region, which used to be owned by Don Pedro Romero de Terrenos, Regla Count and it’s also said that during those times he was the wealthiest man in the world.
